WEATHER STATION INSTALLATION ON A HISTORIC SITE IN VITTORIO VENETO (TV): Nesa works for the restoration of the historic site of meteorological observation of the Episcopal Seminary of Vittorio Veneto (TV)

The October 2012 Nesa, in collaboration with the weekly paper "L'Azione" and the Seminary of the Diocese of Vittorio Veneto (TV), installed a weather station on the ancient tower, a site with priceless historic thirty-year monitoring manually collected from 1931 to 1962. This installation has allowed to restore the monitoring on the historic site throughout its scientific value. See more

NESA AND IASMA - FOUNDATION EDMUND MACH, A COLLABORATION IN GROWTH: the technology of Nesa and the high specialization of Iasma in synergy for agro-meteorological monitoring acording to WMO

For many years Nesa actively collaborates with Iasma (Fondazione Edmund Mach, website http://www.fmach.it/) for the supply of advanced instrumentation and data loggers TMF for agro-meteorological monitoring and disease models fro crops (the network is available online at http://meteo.fmach.it/meteo/mappa.php and allow the operators to obtain data for irrigation management, frost alerts, the calculation of the indices of maturity, growing degree and other services). The Edmund Mach Foundation conducts scientific research, education and training, testing, consulting and services to companies in the areas of agriculture, food and environment. Its management is based on the criteria of efficiency, economy and transparency and non-profit making organization. The Foundation continues the aims and activities of the Institute of Agricultural San Michele, founded in Innsbruck January 12, 1874, and the Centre for Alpine Ecology set up in August 31, 1992, n. 17. In this challenging context, denoted by absolute seriousness and scientific method, Nesa has contributed to the realization of a specific monitoring titled "Evaluate the efficiency of overhead irrigation on strawberry microclimate", the results of which are summarized in the two attached documents.

This great satisfaction arrives after the first one already took place in Italy with the publication in the journal "Nimbus" during 2015. The experience and professionalism of Nesa in numerous projects in Central America is once again brought as evidence of the validity of the Italian product in environments with harsh weather conditions (hurricanes, heavy rain, high temperature and humidity).

NESA AUTOMATIC WEATHER STATION FOR MONITORING OF GLACIERS ON MT. CANIN Continued monitoring of the peculiar microclimate of Monte Canin

Glaciers are natural elements of high environmental value and also impact on the landscape, as they are among the most reliable and accurate indices on the overall climate both locally and on a global scale; their mutations, throughout history, leave indelible traces on the ground and in the last century and a half, a lot of photographs and documents bear witness to the changes that occurred. Nesa has supplied and provide maintenance of one automatic weather station in accordance with WMO (AWS) installed at 2202m downstream of the remains of the Eastern Glacier In Mount Canin (Julian Alps, on the border between the province of Udine and Slovenia) by the Parco Naturale Prealpi Giulie in collaboration with the "Unione Meteorologica Friuli Venezia Giulia" (UMFVG). The measured parameters (eg temperature, wind speed and direction, snow level) are used by scientists and researcher to determine the climate of the area, characterized by massive accumulations of snow and rainfall in particular in the winters. Season 2012-2013 and last 2013-2014 registered very significant values ​​to the ground, allowing the snow to survive the summer heat in the accumulation zones of nearby glaciers, after many years of lack of residues and the overall reduction of surfaces and thicknesses. Many publications are available about the monitoring of glaciers and weather; at this link è you can download the number 1, year XII of the scientific journal "Meteorologica", edited by UMFVG (abstracts available in English). On page 3 it is possible to see a photo of Furio Pieri (Osmer FVG), which shows the installation of the sensors on the lattice, and on page 17 shows the photos produced by Daniele Moro (Snow and avalanches Department in Friuli Venezia Giulia Region) taken in April 2013.

CNR-ITC AND NEAPLES SDN BHD CHOOSE NESA SENSORS FOR MONITORING CO2 AND ILLUMINANCE: Nesa's products to support the measures taken by the Italian-Malaysian research team.

Nesa's sensors for CO2 and luminance monitoring (luxmeters) have been selected and implemented within the project conducted by CNR-ITC (San Giuliano Milanese, Italy) and NEAPOLI SDN BHD (Malaysia), a company specialized in "Environmental Design & Engineering consultancy ". The project, which is the subject of a scientific publication in the international magazine "Sensors" published by MDPI, is fully described in the article that can be consulted at this address and has allowed further progress in optimizing the concepts of indoor air quality (IAQ) and indoor lighting quality ILQ). The choice of using Nesa sensors (available for both indoor and outdoor applications and also available with different measuring ranges suitable for each type of monitoring and condition), has allowed the staff to have accurate and reliable data, perfectly suited for use in the field of scientific research and it's a further proof of the quality and reliability of the products.

WMP MULTIPARAMETRIC PROBES FOR THE MONITORING OF WATER QUALITY IN THE VENICE LAGOON – THE TECHNOLOGICAL PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF CA' FOSCARI OF VENICE

Water quality monitoring stations are an effective tool to knowledge of the state of the aquatic environment and a valuable support of planning its rehabilitation, as well as to allow scientific analysis by organizations and institutions primarily involved in this sector. Determining the physical-chemical parameters that characterize water is critical to know flora and fauna, often linked to the delicate balance of the environment that welcomes them, as trusty and accurate indicators of the state of the water body.

On-line water quality analysis instruments normally provide measures of level, conductance, pH, temperature, turbidity, dissolved oxygen. More available measures include particles of electromagnetic spectrum (light) that indicate absorption or scatter (chlorophyll, nitrate and fluorescence) together with ion-selective electrodes (ISEs).

The use of sophisticated measurement techniques, both for portable and continuous monitoring, allows the collection of data that can be processed to obtain accurate profiling of the physical-chemical parameters; by focusing the analysis to continuous monitoring, we can detect limits in this type of measure, mainly related to the biofilm accumulation ("microfouling") on the probes electrodes, potentially affecting the duration, quality and reliability of the measurements.

In order to test the response of multi-parameter instrumentation, even in massive "fouling" conditions, the Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems Department of Ca’ Foscari University - Venice has conducted a campaign lasting about 14 months, using a probe manufactured by Nesa Srl and specially developed for wide range monitoring of both fresh and brackish water. The results of data inter-comparison between 2014 and 2015 tendencies and the great reliability of Nesa probes have been published as scientific article on METEOROLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL SEPTEMBER 2017 and made worldwide available to thousands of researchers.

RAIN GAUGE AND METEOROLOGICAL SENSORS IN COLD CLIMATES: PATENTED ITALIAN TECHNOLOGY AT WMO-ICAWS 2017

The challenge to properly measure equivalent water amount of solid precipitations, where main electrical power supply is not easily available, is a problem that affects many automatic weather stations (commonly identified as “AWS”), especially when installed in particular climatic conditions (due to geographic localization or altitude).

Nesa S.r.l. has been designing, worldwide supplying and installing professional equipment and systems for environmental monitoring since 2004 and developed several specific solutions for tipping bucket rain gauges, to make them suitable for applications characterized by reduced power availability, obtaining for one of its products the Patent for industrial invention nr. 0001385352 titled “Pluviometro riscaldato a basso consumo di energia” (“Heated rain gauge with low power consumption”) (Italian office for Patents and Trademark – Ministry of Economic Development, Rome, January, the 1st, 2011).

This prestigious opportunity allowed the company to present its technological solutions in front of an audience formed by the most important global researchers in the field of meteorology and technology for environmental monitoring.
